I know, this title really doesn’t sound like news since I am always running around chasing vintage but, really there’s news! I will be temporarily relocating, aka getting a place in Northern Italy for the winter months, Piacenza to be exact, which is just a hop skip and a jump for the great markets I really only skimmed the surface of in this fashion forward region last winter.
The street markets in Milan like this one in Via Papiniano are frequent and plentiful. It makes a difference where you are in Italy, every region has their own style, or lack there of and climates that influence the second hand or dead stock garments you can find. Milan and its inhabitants are the leaders of coolness, no news here either!
I look forward to having the antique market on the Naviglio Grande in my back yard where i have scored gorgeous vintage clothing and accessories.
It is no secret that I am gaga for the Cremona street market too! And also stay tuned for my article on The Social Vintage Mystery Tour, another Cremonese gem!
I cannot wait to revisit the markets and thrift shops during my extended stay on this new turf discover more. I will be full-time thrift touring, curio chasing, garment nabbing and artisan inspecting so stay tuned! I look forward to new discoveries to write up and share with you and also perfect my market itineraries so that next year you can thrift (eat and drink) with me!
